Hi! Before all, welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy your time here
I’m Ivan, I’m software engineer. I come from Leskovac, Serbia and currently live with my family in Zürich, Switzerland. I live with my wife Milica. She is a professor of the Physical Education, she is a great person and my biggest support.
I have an Electrical Engineer diploma in the field of Automation and Control Engineering from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš, Serbia. Somehow along the way of my studies I got lost on the web side of life. Since then, I’m on a mission of learning and sharing knowledge about how to build great software. Since software production is very versatile and complex process that involves lot of skills beside technical I find very interesting and challenging to think about how at the end all of these parameters affect quality of produced software.
I joined great team of local.ch ag frontend developers in October 2009 and I work as Senior Software Engineer for local.ch since then. I enjoy working for local.ch from the first day I came. Scrum organized agile surrounding gives good pace and doesn’t let us be bored in any moment. Open minded colleagues and approach to software development in general gives me the opportunity to grow and improve myself everyday and to contribute back.
Building great software by itself is not the purpose, it is in fact all about solving real world problems in a high quality and sustainable way. Great software is only a part of it. Over time I got more interested into community problems of countries in development, especially the topics related to innovative ways and tools for spreading education over the internet. Therefore I try to dedicate part of my time solving problems related to that. I participate in the RHoK movement and try to help as much as I know and can.
